San Antonio, United States, November 3, 2026 – Credit Human, a $4 billion credit union serving more than 200,000 members, is hosting the 2026 North American Chapter Meeting of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) in San Antonio, Texas, on 3-5 November. At a time when many Americans are struggling to make ends meet, this organization is focused on ways financial services address affordability and sustainability in their communities.
The GABV is a global network of 70+ pioneering financial institutions across 48 countries that integrate social, environmental, and economic objectives into their business models and lending practices. Members share the Principles of Values-Based Banking, focused on sustainability and social impact in their mission, putting communities at the heart of financial services, transparency, long-term sustainability and supporting the real economy.
Expanding values-based banking in North America
The GABV North American Chapter Meeting is the annual gathering of the Alliance’s members and partners in the region. This year’s program brings together leaders from values-based financial institutions across North America. Participants will explore the growing challenge of meeting the world’s water and energy needs when both resources are increasingly strained and deeply interconnected. They will also exchange ideas about how financial institutions can help address affordability challenges as rising water and energy costs place greater financial pressure on businesses and consumers.
Martin Rohner, Executive Director of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values, said:
“The challenges facing communities today, from affordability to increasing pressure on essential resources, cannot be addressed in isolation. This meeting is an opportunity for values-based financial institutions to learn from one another and explore how finance can support more resilient communities and a sustainable real economy. Credit Human’s work and leadership make San Antonio a fitting place for our North American members to have that conversation.”
Steve Hennigan, President and CEO of Credit Human, said:
“We are members of the GABV because of the opportunities it gives to work with like-minded organizations to dig deeply into issues that are most important to our members. We are all committed to making sure financial services work for everyone, and it’s an honor to collaborate with them and share what we’re doing in San Antonio and beyond to improve the lives of our members.”
