February 12, 2021 – It is with deep sorrow that the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) learned of the passing of Kurt Koenigsfest, CEO of BancoSol (Bolivia) and Board member of the GABV, on 11 February.

Kurt Koenigsfest has been a leading light in the development of inclusive finance in Bolivia, the Latin American region and internationally.

BancoSol has been a member of the GABV since 2010 and Kurt Koenigsfest a member of the GABV Board since 2014. During that time, he brought his experience and skill to the growth and increasing influence of values-based banking, overseeing the development of a thriving Latin American Chapter of the GABV. Through his pioneering work in Bolivia, and his influence outside the country, he has made a powerful contribution to the lives and well-being of disadvantaged people around the globe. He will be hugely missed.

On behalf of everyone in the GABV community, we extend our condolences to Kurt Koenigsfest’s family, friends and colleagues at BancoSol.

12 de febrero de 2021 – Con profundo pesar, desde la Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV), compartimos la triste noticia del fallecimiento en el día de ayer de Kurt Koenigsfest, director general de BancoSol (Bolivia) y miembro de la Junta de la GABV.

Kurt Koenigsfest ha sido un referente en el desarrollo de las finanzas inclusivas en Bolivia, en la región latinoamericana y a nivel internacional.

BancoSol es miembro de la GABV desde 2010 y Kurt Koenigsfest era consejero de nuestra institución desde 2014.  Durante este periodo, aportó su experiencia y habilidad para el  crecimiento e influencia de la banca basada en valores, supervisando el desarrollo del capítulo latinoamericano de la GABV. Gracias a su trabajo pionero en Bolivia y a su influencia fuera del país, contribuyó a mejorar las vidas y el bienestar social de personas vulnerables en todo el mundo. Le echaremos mucho de menos.

En nombre de todos los miembros de la comunidad de la GABV hacemos llegar nuestras condolencias a la familia de Kurt Koenigsfest, amigos y colegas de BancoSol.
