The Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) is set to launch the second edition of the GABV Governance Academy, an exclusive educational initiative tailored for Board members of values-based banks.
In today’s intricate and ever-evolving financial landscape, governance stands as an essential pillar. Responding to a growing demand from its members for enhanced board effectiveness, GABV has reaffirmed its partnership with the Institute for Values-Based Governance to introduce the second edition of the GABV Governance Academy.
This programme has been crafted to cater to Non-Executive Directors within values-based organizations. It recognizes that effective governance at the highest level plays a pivotal role in seamlessly integrating values into every facet of mission-driven banking. Furthermore, it acknowledges that boards of values-based banks require unique skill sets and insights when compared to their conventional counterparts.
Martin Rohner, Executive Director of the GABV, emphasizes the significance of this initiative, stating:

Theory U and continuous mentorship
The educational journey, rooted in the principles of Theory U and complemented by ongoing mentorship, will commence with a virtual pre-session on November 8, 2023. Subsequent modules will be conducted online, with the final module scheduled for in-person delivery during the GABV Annual Meeting in Italy, hosted by Banca Etica.
In its inaugural year, the GABV Governance Academy garnered considerable acclaim, with over 90% of participants endorsing the programme.
