The Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) has appointed two new Regional Representatives for the European and Latin American regions.
The GABV announced the new appointments during the 14th GABV Annual Meeting, hosted by Amalgamated Bank in New York from 18-20 April. The Regional Representatives work closely with the CEOs and senior colleagues of the member banks in the regions where they operate. They help facilitate growth within their respective regions and foster the engagement of members within the movement. There are currently four Regional Representatives for Europe, North America, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific regions.
Martha Lucía Rojas was appointed as the new Regional Representative for the Latin American region, succeeding Juan Pablo Meza.

Martha Lucía worked as Executive Director of the ACCION Network in Latin America, Regional Project Director of ACCION´s Remittance and Microfinance Program, Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer for Latin America & Caribbean Region of Western Union Financial Services Inc. In Colombia Martha Lucía worked as Prosecutor on Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Extorsion & Anti-Kidnapping crimes, Director General (ad hoc) and Advisor to the Director General of the Financial Intelligence Unit-UIAF, Anti-Money Laundering & Regulatory Compliance Manager of Colfondos S.A. Pension and Severance Fund, Visiting Attorney of the Attorney General Office, Associate Attorney of Idrobo & Asociados S.A. Law Firm, and she practices as an Independent Attorney & Consultant.
Ugo Biggeri was appointed as the new Regional Representative for the European region, succeeding Pierre Aeby.
“It is an honour and a pleasure for me to work in this role. As co-founder and former CEO of the Banca Etica group, I am convinced that finance can positively change the world, if it pursues social and environmental objectives. But we need alliances and to disseminate robust managing practices. GABV is the best place to promote this idea and I will try to do my best.” says Ugo Biggeri on the new appointment.
Ugo Biggeri is currently a Lecturer in Ethical Finance and Microcredit at the University of Florence. He was the former President of Etica Sgr (2011-2023), Co-founder of Banca Etica and former CEO and President (2010 to 2019). He is also a former Board member of GABV (2017-2023). He has a degree and PhD in Physics, specialising in Sustainable Development (Trento) and Business Management (Bocconi). He has always been committed to the issues of social justice and ecology, both personally and at the family level and professionally, promoting actions and proposals for change with Italian NGOs.
