As Pride Month draws to a close, we join voices around the world to celebrate diversity, champion human rights and call for an end to discrimination against all people. In particular, those discriminated against because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Pride Month is an opportunity to reinforce our call for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from a wider perspective. It is an opportunity to make sure that everyone enjoys the same rights, no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity, race, sex, ethnicity, religion, political beliefs, income level, or place of birth.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion have a central role in the Banking on Values movement. Values-based banks strive to advance inclusive communities by financing individuals and enterprises that deliver positive change.
Every day as a global network, the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) lives diversity across countries, regions and cultures. The world is complex, and so are the challenges we face. Our banks operate in countries with different perspectives on human rights, such as on sexual orientation or gender identity. Nevertheless, each member works to deliver on its commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in their own context and under different formal and informal rules.
