Mission

Megabank is focusing on the services that are most required by the people and companies that it works with. For private persons, we offer consumer crediting products, opening deposits, card products, online banking and a unique banking product – the Integral Clearing Centre intended for payments for utility services.

For businesses, the bank offers crediting and microlending with a focus on the agricultural sector, as well as on documentary operations, bill avalization services, trade financing, settlement and cash services, banking guaranties and opening letters of credit (secured and unsecured ones).

Our mission is to become a prominent European customer-oriented bank of Ukraine, which guarantees a financial stability and is useful for customers, business partners, shareholders and employees.

The goal of the bank consists in improving its work, using innovative approaches for doing business, looking forward so that probable difficulties could be predicted, assessing the final result in a due way and giving priority to future-oriented decisions.

To fulfil our mission, we have determined the corporate values that are a basis for any of our steps forward. They will help us establish our relations with customers, partners and shareholders as well as with each other. These are orientation to the customer, unity of our team, European standards of servicing and practice of open cooperation.

History

The history of establishing Megabank starts as early as at the time when Ukraine was a part of the former USSR. In June 1990, the USSR’s State Bank registered the Dobrodii Kharkiv Commercial Bank. In 1995, the Dobrodii Bank changed its name to become the Megabank Joint-Stock Commercial Bank.

Since 1998, Megabank has been establishing an efficient retail network in the territory of Ukraine. As of today, the bank has 167 branches in 18 regions of the country, 613,233 permanent customers and around 1,500 highly-skilled employees.
In 1998, Megabank was one of the first banks in Ukraine to start implementing the National Multiple Electronic Payment System. More than two million Ukrainians (12% of all payers of Ukraine) pay for their utility services by using our bank’s system. They can pay for the services by using a united bill.

The bank has the status of principal (direct) participant of the MasterCard and Visa payments systems as well as the Prostir national payment system.

In 2018, Megabank launched the todobank mobile banking project.

At present, Megabank is a commercial bank that is included in the first category of banks according to the classification of the National Bank of Ukraine. According to the ratings of various financial business portals and agencies, our bank is permanently among the Top 20 of the most stable Ukrainian banks.

In the spring of 2019, the Rating Committee of the Expert-Rating agency updated the long-term credit rating of the Megabank JSC to the uaAА level. The borrower that has the uaAА level is characterized by a very high creditworthiness if compared with other Ukrainian borrowers.

The head office of the bank is located in Kharkiv, which is the second largest city of Ukraine.

Structure

Shareholders: Viktor Subotin – direct and indirect shareholding in the scope of 60.89% of the authorized capital; three prominent financial institutions: European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) – 15% of the authorized capital, German Development Bank (KfW) – 15%, International Finance Corporation (IFC) – 6.02 %. Presence of foreign financial institutions among the bank’s shareholders is a unique feature in Ukraine. Due to foreign capital and global experience of the shareholders, we have more capabilities than any other bank: Megabank guarantees stability and European quality of servicing; it helps its customers achieve their financial goals and make their dreams come true.

The remaining 3.09% of the authorized capital of the bank belong to more than 240 legal entities and individuals, which are either residents or non-residents.

Focusing on the market, products and servicing 

Services for private persons: consumer crediting program; in particular, two targeted loans – for purchasing agricultural equipment and for taking energy-saving measures in households; opening deposits, card products, online banking and a unique  banking product – the Integral Clearing Centre intended for payments for utility services.

The Integral Clearing Centre (ICC) is intended for online payments for utility services, transfers from one card to another, kindergartens, loans and money transfers without waiting in queues, etc. The ICC has a vast system of Megabank’s payment acceptance outlets (there are 80 outlets of the kind in Kharkiv) and М-box terminals. Apart from that, it is possible to pay for utility services by using the todobank application.

For businesses, the bank offers crediting and microlending with a focus on the agricultural sector, as well as on documentary operations, bill avalization services, trade financing, settlement and cash services, banking guaranties, and opening letters of credit (secured and unsecured ones).
