En los pa\u00edses de ingresos bajos y medianos, el 70 % de los ni\u00f1os de diez a\u00f1os no sabe leer y comprender un texto sencillo, y la cifra llega al 90 % en los pa\u00edses m\u00e1s pobres. Una de las principales causas es la falta de inversi\u00f3n: los pa\u00edses de ingresos bajos y medianos bajos se enfrentan a un d\u00e9ficit anual de financiaci\u00f3n de 97.000 millones de USD para alcanzar el Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible 4 de la ONU, relativo a una educaci\u00f3n de calidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El programa EduFinance de Opportunity International Savings and Loans responde a esta situaci\u00f3n apoyando a escuelas privadas asequibles mediante pr\u00e9stamos para la mejora escolar. Estos pr\u00e9stamos dan a los propietarios de las escuelas acceso a capital para sus necesidades m\u00e1s urgentes, como:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>construir nuevas aulas, ba\u00f1os o dormitorios para aumentar la asistencia y la matriculaci\u00f3n, especialmente entre las ni\u00f1as;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>contratar nuevos profesores, reducir el n\u00famero de alumnos por clase y comprar libros de texto, pupitres u ordenadores;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>mejorar la salud y la seguridad con techos met\u00e1licos, pisos de hormig\u00f3n, vallas de seguridad y sistemas de agua limpia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adem\u00e1s de la financiaci\u00f3n, la Academia de Liderazgo Escolar de Opportunity organiza talleres que ayudan a los propietarios de escuelas a entender y solicitar pr\u00e9stamos para mejoras, adem\u00e1s de fomentar v\u00ednculos m\u00e1s estrechos entre las escuelas y las instituciones financieras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al conectar la financiaci\u00f3n del sector privado con los proveedores de educaci\u00f3n, EduFinance est\u00e1 ayudando a m\u00e1s ni\u00f1os de pa\u00edses de ingresos bajos y medios a acceder a escuelas mejores y m\u00e1s seguras.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More than 251 million children and young people worldwide are out of school, and millions more sit in classrooms without learning even the most basic skills.
