Senior citizens bring experience, trust and lifelong financial discipline to our communities, and their sustained savings have helped build and strengthen the banking sector. As banking goes digital, ESAF Small Finance Bank believes serving older customers is both a privilege and a moral responsibility: ensuring they can bank safely, conveniently and with dignity, even as digital technologies and financial frauds grow more sophisticated.
From 21 August to 21 September 2026, the bank observed ESAF Vayojyoti 2026, “Celebrating the Wisdom of Senior Citizens”, a month of community and branch-level activities designed to engage and support older customers. These included “Snehasparsh” visits to old-age homes, the creation of Silver Circle Clubs, and special engagement programmes. Sessions also promoted healthy, active ageing, covering physical activity, balanced nutrition, social connection, regular health check-ups and responsible medication management.
To make banking easier, Senior Citizen Facilitation Desks across branches offer personalised help with mobile banking, UPI registration, nomination and KYC updates. Where possible, branches also extended support to elderly customers unable to visit in person.
Financial awareness was another key pillar. Dedicated sessions covered safe banking, cybersecurity, digital fraud prevention, OTP scams, UPI safety and retirement planning, helping older customers use digital services with greater confidence.
Through Vayojyoti, ESAF brought together financial inclusion, accessible banking, financial literacy and community engagement, so that senior citizens feel valued, respected and secure. Around 3,500 senior customers were reached.
