The Annual Meeting of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) in March 2015 marked the successful launch of the GABV Leadership Academy. The GABV Leadership Academy is designed for bankers with leadership responsibility across the GABV.
It offers them the opportunity to develop and advance their leadership capacity in the context of values-based banking and to learn about and explore a wide variety of values-based banking models and financial innovations across the GABV. The Paris meeting was the first of four in-person workshops to be held over the course of 18 months supplemented with between-module online learning and coaching.
Three of the modules are hosted by a GABV member, which offers an in-depth exploration of the respective bank, its business model and its impact. The first module was hosted by Crédit Coopératif in Paris and overlapped with the proceedings of the GABV Annual Meeting. There were multiple opportunities throughout the week for participants to meet with other GABV professionals, CEOs and leaders from across the GABV. The GABV Academy is facilitated by Dr. Katrin Kaeufer and Dayna Cunningham from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, USA and supported by a group of five MIT fellows who were nominated by the GABV.
The GABV Leadership Academy was developed by a network of Human Resource senior managers from the across the GABV including Triodos Bank, Centenary Bank (Uganda), Beneficial State Bank (USA), FMO (The Netherlands), Banca Etica (Italy) and Vancity (Canada). The next GABV Leadership Academy will be launched in 2017.
