ZEIST, THE NETHERLANDS: The Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV), a network of the world’s leading values-based banks, is proud to announce that this year’s GABV Annual Meeting will be organized in Arequipa, Peru (6-8 March). The co-organizer of the meeting is a local GABV member Caja Arequipa. This three-day event will gather CEOs and Senior Executives from more than 40 Banks and financial institutions (who have embraced value-based banking) operating in countries across Asia, Africa, Australia, Latin America, North America and Europe.
The theme of the Meeting in Peru “Values-based banking revisited: Facing the Future Together” captures the work of the GABV aimed at changing the world of finances. The members of GABV are putting their efforts in building a deeper understanding of who they serve and their common mission and impact, so that they can renew the commitment to the local communities. With this meeting, we hope to show the existence of banks and financial institutions who are working for the benefit of the people, who are not driven by profit and who are #BankingOnValues.
“We join together to celebrate the 10th annual meeting of the GABV, an event which has been prepared with global and regional needs in mind. We want to raise awareness within regional financial institutions of the role we play in the sustainable development of the communities in which we operate. This includes our role in fostering responsible finances, respecting the diversity of people, innovation and financial education.” Ramiro Postigo Castro Central Manager of Finance and Planning
“This year’s GABV annual meeting promises forums and public events that showcase the challenges and achievements of values-based banking in Peru and Latin America. We are convinced that the event will be an incredible opportunity to revisit what it means, in practice, to bank on values-based principles, with a focus on this region of the world. We want to increase the cohesion of the values-based banking movement through experience and best-practices exchange and look to the future. We are convinced that the event will inspire and encourage everyone to keep on banking on values.” Marcos Eguiguren, GABV Executive Director
